Bring Sindh into focus.

Connect your Google satellite basemap, then load the output from the included Earth Engine processor.

Enable Maps JavaScript API and restrict your key to this website. The key stays in this tab’s memory and is sent only to Google.

Includes water tiles, natural-color reconstruction, observation dates and coverage. Temporary map tiles may expire; rerun the processor when needed.

Observation ≠ reconstruction.

Detected water: Sentinel-2 MNDWI uses green and shortwave infrared reflectance at 20 m. Cloud and shadow pixels are excluded. Sentinel-1 radar uses a separate, adjustable backscatter threshold.

Most recent available: a rolling observation window supplies the newest valid pixel, so dates can vary across Sindh. A scene date is not province-wide coverage.

Reconstructed surface: clear dry land uses Sentinel-2 colour from the selected day or the latest clear observation within the selected window, including places the older basemap shows as water. Dry fill stays opaque; the slider changes synthetic water opacity. Grey marks cloud-obscured or missing observations, which are never assumed dry. Land detail is limited to Sentinel resolution (10–20 m); no fine terrain is invented. Use Satellite reference to compare the older high-resolution imagery. Older analysis files need regeneration to include this fill.

Structure protection: mapped bridge decks, barrages, dams, weirs, piers and river-training structures are cut out of the display overlays to reveal the original satellite reference. Line widths are estimated when footprints are unavailable. This does not establish whether a structure is currently flooded or safe. Area totals retain the raw satellite classification. This is an experimental reconstruction, not a current photograph or a validated flood-warning service. Radar can confuse smooth dry ground with water, and miss flooded vegetation.

Surface overlays are displayed above the satellite reference without downloading or editing its imagery. Fine detail under former water requires separately licensed high-resolution dry imagery.
